Speak Truth to Power

The BSL Educational Foundation Inc., Bro. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Young People’s Oratorical Contest is designed to allow Greater Hartford students to shine through public speaking. Participants must recite original essays, poems, or skits about our 2026 theme: Speak Truth to Power.

Each group (middle and high school) will have scholarship opportunities ranging from $150.00 to $1,000.00. For 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, a panel of judges selects a winner from each division to receive such book scholarships.
